COMIN' OVER! - "This guy will never set to a woman."
DRILL, THE - LUMPY'S nod to a real volleyball warmup. Seldom looks that good when we do it, though.
EGALITARIAN BALL - LUMPY always sets their women (almost always, anyway).
FANCY BOY - See "Spry Colt".
GO! GO! - "You get it!"
HELP! - "That bump sucked!"
THE "J" - A serve into the net (or one that doesn't even reach the net). Two "J's" means you're serving underhand the rest of the night. Three "J's" and you're buying a pitcher.
JOUST - Two opponents fighting for a ball above the net.
NICE PASS! - No help needed (see above).
NO! NO! - "I had it!"
PITY SET - A set to the weak link.
SLUG - Any overhead bump, particularly with hands clenched into one big fist.
SMELT - To hit the net, thereby losing the point or sideout. "He was caught in the net like a smelt."
SPRY COLT - A player who requires exaggerated motions to play the game.
WEAK LINK - The "go to" guy on the other team, when a point is necessary. Hopefully the other team won't find one on yours.
WEASEL - Winning a point by crawling the ball over the net.
